STRUCTURE AND FORM OF THE "INFO M" JOURNAL

Identity Card

Forefront of you there is almost one year old quarterly published issue that combines hard copy with electronic version of the science-expert periodical "Info m". This is the very first periodical related to the national computer media and published in Serbian Cyrillic.

There is a partial introduction of the content and pattern of the hard copy and multimedia materials published in the first May issue and subsequently, up to the last two issues no. 3 and 4. of 2002., as well as the foreword and the substance of the next 5. volume and actual information in respect of national computer multimedia and digital recording. The periodical "Info M" is composed of few segments that are mutually related to each other while the printed materials are divided in few main columns.

Review and content of the columns

Articles

In this segment, usually 7-9 articles, prepared by the national scientists and experts in the field of computer communications, information technology and computer multimedia with the aim of informing the international and national public in Serbian language are published. They are printed in black and white according to the international standards for this type of publishing along with due abstracts, articles presentations, titles and key words in English and Serbian, authors photos and personal details. This segment of the periodical is edited by the Periodical Science Council headed by the President Prof. Dr Branislav Lazarević, professor of the Faculty of organizational science, which include nearly thirty eminent researchers, professors of the national technical faculties, as well as the foreign professors. Prof. Dr Dragana Bečejski -Vujaklija, professor of the Faculty of organizational sciences in Belgrade and the main editor of the periodical "Info M" is responsible for the substance and regular publishing of this column. It is envisaged that. every year, the cumulative register of published articles will be printed in the first subsequent volume of the new issue.

Presentations

This column introduces relevant and actual written news and information, regarding science-expert meetings and publications chosen by Redaction. The published material is not indicated in the content, given that it is not a subject of a library lay out.

Reviews along with the articles and few color pages with advertisements of informatics sponsor firms, create independent segment of the periodical (main and front cover of the periodical and content of the articles up to the page no. 64), that is the main segment of the periodical "Info M". In addition the autonomous unit (free layout up to 20 color pages and special cover pages and title "Info M" in Cyrillic) set apart for the national computer multimedia and digital recording is inserted through the mid of the main segment of the Periodical. Every column in this unit have special frame-writing in different color complemented with numerous color photos.

Actual

The most important review for the relevant issue is always published in the independently organized unit of the periodical, placed first in order on the second page of the interior of the cover paper along with the content and other subjects (dedicated to the national computer multimedia) and is printed in color on the orange basis. Up to now there was a presentation of the authors of multimedia issues whose earlier CDs are recorded and given away to the readers of the periodical "Info M" (authors of the CDs – "Legacy of Stefan Nemanja", "Sava Šumanović, "Religion for children"). In this column the biographies and presentation of works of our eminent artists and founders are introduced, as well as some of national software of particular importance or their version in Serbian language (i.e. "Open Office in issues 3-4")

Event

Informatics science-expert manifestations held in the period of the year relevant for the particular issue of the periodical "Info M" – fair, meeting, conference, promotion and a like that harbor works and creations in the field of national computer multimedia and digital recording are introduced on the printed pages (blue basis for the title and overtitle), and CD with adequate screen. Up to now there have been published for example multimedia reportage with respect to the science- expert meetings, "Internet and Cyrillic", " DOGS 2002" (digital recording of speech and images TELEFOR 2002 (telecommunication forum and the Belgrade book fair held in October 2002.

Presentation Place.

This space is set apart for the firms and individuals who have created national programs and projects of relevance and importance as well as issues in relation to the computer multimedia and digital recording (space visually recognizable due to the cream color base). In this segment of the periodical "Info m" the following is published: the "Visualization of the Belgrade Fortress and the Castle of Stefan Lazarević”, “Digital sound book” published by “Filip Visnjić” from Belgrade, “We present the Vuk's Legate”, promotion of the CD “70 years of the National library “Filip Visnjić” in Bijeljina, Multimedia issue “Ballad of Valjevo", "Project Rastko" –library of the Serbian culture on Internet etc. The topics regarding national cultural heritage that have already been or are to be digitally recorded with different dominant component- sound, video, animation or picture are published as well.

Digital recording. This segment of the periodical "Info M" (visually recognizable by the light green frame) deals with the reviews and surveys of the important national cultural, science and historic institutions (Museums, Galleries, Archives, Libraries, Foundations etc) that already make or will make a part of the "National digital heritage"

Up to now, the periodical "Info m" made choice with regard to the material for this column publishing for example: a part of the CD of "the Museum of the Yugoslav Kinoteka", "Digital heritage of the City of Belgrade Museum" (CD of the Museum of the Contemporary Art in Belgrade), digital recording of the daily paper "Politika" secured on the microfilms from 1903 and 1904, presentation of digital heritage of the worldwide largest libraries as well as the translation of the EU Recommendation "Digital recording as a method for securing the information"

Annex

The specific part of the periodical "Info M" that is a gift to the readers is a reprint/ renewed CD issue of particular renowned national electronic publications. That is a third substantially and formally independent unit ( in respect of previous two: thematic and color insert for multimedia and its respectful part on the CD)

Given that the every new issue envisages different stile, and content the following subjects have been already published: literary-artistic work with historic content, Stefan Nemanja Legate (CD - No. 1), art of painting, monograph “Sava Šumanović” CD No. 2), the gifts were two titles, one regarding education "Religion for Children" and other relating to the application of computer technology in the office undertaking " Localized software package Open Office for Windows in Serbian language" (CD No. 3-4) and literature "Encyclopedia of science-fiction"(CD No. 5), etc.

Editorial and publisher

Editor of "Info-m" insert for multimedia and digital recording is Dr Srbislav Bukumirović, president of the Association for multimedia, Aleksandra and Dragan Turanjanin as well as Milutin Atanacković are in charge of design and CD programs, Internet and presentation of the periodical "Info M" is realized by the group of programmers and associates to the Internet project “Rastko”. Mirjana Živković, marketing director is in charge of the marketing, subscriptions and sponsorships. Preparation for printing/layout – Apple Center from New Belgrade. The publisher of the periodical is SAV- PO publishing firm from Stara Pazova.
