ABANDONED CHURCH

There rests an old picture of crucified Christ,
Blood streaming down his broken ribs,
Eyes lifeless, lips pale, the very image of death;
With a nimbus of cast silver over his head.
A gift by the old nobles and pious crowds
The golden necklace on his neck shines.
Rimmed with pure sterling silver,
And a golden frame artfully carved.
So lies Christ midst deserted temple,
Whilst the night silently drops,
And a flock of preys readily stalks,
Forsaken and alone, with vampires around,
Desperate and dire, his arms spread
Waiting forever for the non coming fold...
